How do I install the Related Content Widgets on my Tumblr site?

Use these step-by-step instructions to install Limk Related Content Widgets on your Tumblr site.

Step 1: If you’re new to Limk sign-up for a free account. If you already have an account, please sign-in here.

Step 2: Create a website here.

Step 3: Install Your Limk Widget Loader Code

Basic Version

Find the widget you’d like to add to your site under “Manage Widgets” and click “Get My Code” under “Actions” dropdown button menu.

Click “Tumblr” on the left side which will bring up your installation instructions.

Simply follow the on-screen instructions provided for Tumblr to place the widget on your site.


Step-by-step Version

Installing The Necessary Limk Loader Code

The first thing you need to do is install the Limk Widget Loader Code on the web site where you want to show our widgets.

Limk Widget Loader Code must be installed on every page of your website that you want to show our widgets.

For your Limk Widget Loader Code, you will need to place those codes just above the </body> closing tag of your HTML template.

To get your Limk Widget Loader Code, head over to “Manage Widgets” and click “Get My Code” under “Actions” dropdown button menu of the widget you’d like to install. You will be redirected to the widget activation page where you’ll find your Widget Loader Code.

  • Go to tumblr.com and make sure you are logged in to your Tumblr account. Click “Customize ” in the right-hand menu. Click the “Edit HTML ” in the Custom Theme section of the left menu to edit you site’s code.
  • Use CTRL-F or Command-F and search for:

After you paste your widget’s installation code, be sure to click on the green “Update Preview” button first, then blue “Save” button to keep your changes. Check if the responsive widget appears on your site.


Installing Horizontal Widget After the Posts

For Tumblr sites, you will need to manually install the widget onto your template for it to display beneath each post on the article pages.

Use CTRL-F or Command-F and search for this:

Copy and paste the following code immediately after:

After you paste your widget’s installation code, be sure to click on the green “Update Preview” button first, then blue “Save” button second to keep your changes. Check if the widget appears on your site.

In order to use our touch enabled Responsive Widget on mobile, please make sure to disable the default mobile theme provided by Tumblr. You can find this option in “Advanced” section on many Tumblr themes out there.
